Virtual Sun skylight, Highly natural light makes indoor spaces feel larger and more open. Replicates the blue sky sunrise and sunset with LED light.
Overview
We have developed an indoor lighting technology, that produces natural light with depth and colors similar to a real sky. It is based on an original lighting structure, that is less than 100mm thick while combining a thin blue sky panel, that uses an edge-lit method to emit LED light from the sides of the panel, and frames that generate sunny light.
Technology Point
Mimics the sunrise and sunset, Rayleigh scattering effect that makes the sky appear blue
In the real sky, sunlight is scattered by atmospheric air molecules. Short-wavelength blue light is scattered more strongly than long-wavelength red light, making the sky appear blue when viewed from below.
The developed lighting system mimics the sky’s Rayleigh scattering effect, combining LED light sources that correspond to the sun, light scattered that corresponds to atmospheric air molecules.
*The effect which occurs when sunlight strikes atmospheric air molecules during the daytime, and scatters short-wavelength blue light more strongly than long-wavelength red light, making the sky appear blue when viewed from below.
Thin package achieved by the edge-lit method
The conventional method requires an adequate distance between the LED light source and light scattered to obtain a uniform blue sky color, so the lighting system necessarily becomes thick.
The edge-lit method emits LED light from the sides of the panel, and allows for a thin structure that measures less than 100mm, for wide-ranging applications in offices and public facilities.
For more comfortable indoor spaces
This technology is ideal for offices, public facilities, underground spaces and other environments where natural light is limited or unavailable.
It provides pleasant light that mimics natural light like no conventional LED lighting system can, and creates comfortable indoor spaces that provide a more natural and open feeling.
